Land Rover

With their legendary off-road prowess and lavish interiors, Land Rovers are famous as do-anything luxury vehicles that don’t force owners to sacrifice comfort for capability. Inspired by the original rough-and-tumble Willys Jeep used by the US Army in World War II, the original Land Rover was launched in 1948 as a sturdy but utilitarian device. The brand grew increasingly luxurious over the years, maintaining its trademark surefootedness off-road as it added new creature comforts.

The brand today features a small lineup of luxury off-roaders that ranges from the entry Land Rover LR2 to the flagship Range Rover. A mid-range model, the Land Rover LR4 is intended for families and features a third row of seats.

After being owned by the Ford Motor Company, Land Rover was sold to India’s Tata Motors in 2008. The brand has US headquarters in Mahwah, New Jersey.
