While this is a good car, I wouldn't be caught dead in it. When I bought my 4Runner, I pretty much walked by this vehicle, pretending not to see it. You know, like that dork at a party trying to catch your eye.... ummm, no thanks. Move on.
I've been in one and for a minivan it's good, but it's not for me. The space inside is pretty amazing. Seats 7-8 people, carries lots of gear, and 400 cupholders or something like that. The only time I wish I had one of these is when family is in town because it carries so much. But nothing, and I mean nothing, is going to make me sacrifice my pride and force me into a minivan.
If you must succumb to the van lifestyle, this one is the the one to get. It's huge, top safety ratings, and you get great quality and resale value.
No chance in making these things cool, so it's pretty perfect for what it is.
This is the first true SUV I ever had. We were having a baby and I wanted a family car that wasn't a minivan. So I'm not into domestics trucks, so I pretty much knew exactly what to get at that point. The 4Runner carries all of our gear, is great for road trips, and sits the whole family comfortably. Plus I know it's safe. And while I don't off road, I know it can handle snow, rocks, whatever you throw at it.
The 4Runner has always been great looking and this one is no different. It looks different from the rest and has a pretty aggressive stance. But the best thing about it is how it just goes without any hiccups - I never have problems. I don't want to ever worry about the car starting. I've had Acuras in the past and I needed that level of quality. Why bother with anything but great quality, right?
Love the rear window in the back. When it's hot, all I have to do is roll down the back and get going. Hot air is pulled out the back. Plus, it's easy to throw soccer balls back there and get moving without losing a step. Best feature on a car I've ever had. I don't think anybody has this feature on their trucks.
In short.... It looks great. It runs great. Maintenance is affordable. I can trust that it's not going to break down.
Well I guess every car could improve on miles per gallon. The SUV is pretty heavy, so I'm lucky to pull 20 mpg on any occasion. Nothing other than that.
